About Voice to Handwriting
Voice to Handwriting is a free web tool: speak into your microphone, watch the transcript appear in real time, and see it rendered as realistic handwriting on paper — ready to export as PNG or PDF.
Why we built it
You want a handwritten card, a journal entry, or a handwritten quote image — but typing it out and laying it up is a chore. Every other handwriting tool starts with typing. Speaking is always faster. We put voice input and handwriting rendering together, which no comparable tool does.
Privacy is the default
- Your text and exports are processed entirely in your browser — never uploaded to our servers;
- Speech recognition is provided by your browser's native Web Speech API: desktop Chrome / Edge sends audio to Google's service, Safari on Apple devices uses Apple's — that step never touches us;
- Font and paper preferences live only in your browser's localStorage.
See the Privacy Policy for details.
The desks behind the guides
Our guides are signed by five editorial desks — pen names, each with its own beat and voice: classroom practice, adult practice, science, cards & letters, and the tools themselves. Desks are editorial voices, not individual staff profiles.
Clara Hartley · Classroom desk · K–3
Writes the classroom-tested guides for parents and teachers — name tracing, three-line paper, first cursive lessons. Everything starts from what actually works with young writers.
Wes Morales · Adult practice coach
Retrained his own handwriting as an adult and now writes the step-by-step improvement plans: diagnosis first, drills second, honest expectations throughout.
Mara Voss · Science desk
Separates what handwriting research shows from what headlines claim — reads the studies, cites them, and says plainly where the evidence stops.
June Park · Occasions & letters desk
Believes a handwritten note is the last luxury that costs nothing — writes the thank-you, wedding and seasonal letter guides for moments that deserve ink.
Theo Lindgren · Maker's desk
Builds the tools and writes the tutorials: workflows, tuning tips and honest limitations, tested on desktop Chrome before anything is published.
